Pouches & Flexible Packaging Suppliers in Asia
Source stand-up pouches, sachets, rollstock films, vacuum packs, retort pouches and laminated flexible packaging from Asian converters and manufacturers. Flexible packaging is one of the strongest cross-border sourcing categories in Asia, but price comparisons are meaningful only when barrier structure, print specification, filling process and order volume are defined consistently.
Where Asia is strong in flexible packaging
China has a broad supplier base covering retort, vacuum, spouted, flat-bottom, coffee and recyclable pouch formats. Thailand has established food and FMCG flexible-packaging manufacturers with multiple quality systems. Vietnam is competitive for custom pouches and regional export supply. India combines large flexible-packaging groups with food, healthcare and recyclable formats. South Korea and Japan are relevant where higher-specification films, print quality or specialized applications matter.

Key specifications for an RFQ
- Product type and filling process: dry, liquid, hot-fill, retort, frozen or ambient.
- Required oxygen, moisture, aroma and light barrier performance.
- Film structure or performance target if the exact laminate is not yet specified.
- Pouch style, dimensions, zipper, spout, valve or other functional features.
- Printing method, artwork colors and whether rollstock or premade bags are required.
- Order quantity, repeat volume, destination and target production date.
MOQ, cylinders and printing setup
Flexible-packaging MOQ is often driven by print setup, film runs and bag-making efficiency. Rotogravure printing may involve cylinder costs and higher economic run sizes, while other printing methods can suit shorter runs. Ask suppliers to separate plate or cylinder charges, material cost and conversion cost so repeat-order economics are clear.
Sustainability claims need verification
Mono-material, recyclable, compostable and recycled-content claims should be evaluated against the destination market and actual product requirements. A technically recyclable pouch may still fail if local collection or recycling infrastructure does not accept it. Barrier performance and product loss also matter in lifecycle decisions.

FAQ
What is the biggest mistake in flexible packaging RFQs?
Quoting only pouch size and quantity without barrier or filling requirements. Two pouches can look similar but use very different structures and have very different shelf-life performance.
Should buyers specify the laminate structure?
If the structure is already validated, include it. If not, describe the product, shelf life, filling process and required performance so suppliers can propose a suitable construction for evaluation.
